I met Mary many years ago where we were focused on cake as part of the WI . At that point I’d never met anyone who was able to talk with such knowledge and enthusiasm  about every chemical process connected with the delights and pitfalls of baking . 
Having an eye for detail was something we all admired about her . 
Mary was much more than an accomplished baker - although she baked so many delicious signature cakes for our family - birthdays , weddings and other celebrations .
Mary was so very giving - demonstrating her core traits of kindness , consideration and compassion  - these shone through in every conversation and interaction we had . With one of our sons - Mary reached out guiding him when he showed an interest in baking and  introduced him to world and craft of being a chocolaterie . She did this without fuss or expecting any rewards and gently encouraged and supported him over the years .

Her accomplishments were many and varied as no doubt others will share but she will remain always in our hearts as she guided us sourced and collected our wedding bands - another example of a time when she went out of her way to be a true and loving friend .
Thank you Mary - you will be missed but you will stay close to us . We were  privileged to know you .
